RELEASE NOTES:

I am in the middle of reading this book. As the mother of an "out" lesbian, most of the information in this book is not "news" to me. While things have changed a bit in the past 14 years, this book is a valulable read for both heteros and gays who do not have a broad understanding of the closet, particularly those who think that things have changed enough so that we have evolved beyond homophobia. Of course, it would be an extremely valuable read for those who are homophobic if they dared to pick it up! Our culture is still extremely heterocentric, to quote my daughter's girlfriend (to whom I will pass on this book for her perspective).
