The Birth of Venus

This book came highly recommended and was an enjoyable read. I am going to pass this to someone that I know likes historical fiction.
Mailed out today as a RABCK
Received today! BTW, the book I had on my wish list was Transit of Venus not The Birth of Venus, but this does look good!
Finished reading the book this evening (after it had sat on the TBR shelf for a very long time!)
When I first started the book, it felt as if I'd read it before. I'm not sure if I had started it at some other time or if it just felt like some other historical fiction I'd read in the past.
However, as I got into the story, I really enjoyed Alessandra's tale. Dunant brought Florence and the art to life beautifully. All in all a very enjoyable read.

I probably wouldn't normally read this but...when I saw that it is set in Renaissance Florence I decided I have to give it a try. I went to Florence as a teenager and fell in love with the city.
