A very funny little book that I'm sending to my friend AceofHearts in Canada.
ynopsis
"A Wayne in a Manger" includes some wonderfully funny and touching nativity play anecdotes, including children forgetting their lines, ad-libbing, falling of the stage, picking their noses and showing their knickers. One hilarious anecdote tells of an innkeeper who generously says there's plenty of room for Mary and Joseph, while another child, jealous of Joseph's starring role, allows Mary to come in but not Joseph, who can 'push off'...There's the baby Jesus who suddenly pipes up with 'My name is Tammy, are you my Mommy?' and funniest of all, Mary who tells Joseph, 'I'm having a baby - oh and it's not yours'.

This book is really cute. There are lots of short stories about what a school Inspector would see or hear during Christmas time. Kids say and do the darnedest things! The illustrations that accompanied the book were also very cute.

Years ago, (in 2007 to be exact) we hosted a convention for BookCrossing here in Charleston, in the hotel almost directly across the street from where I now live. One of the first visitors I met the very first day was aceofhearts. We became good "bookfriends" and shared recommendations and thoughts back and forth. Now, 7 years later, I've been recruited to organize the library/reading room in our building and turned to BookCrossers for help filling the shelf. Received this book today from HoserLauren as a contribution to the book exchange shelves here at The Bristol, which is now, also, an UnofficialBCZ for BookCrossing. I see that it was once on my friend aceofheart's bookshelf. How nice to share titles once again. Thank you so much for sending this. It means a lot. Hello to the previous readers. Hope someone snaps this book from the UBCZ and keeps it travelling!

This will go on our shelf for younger readers.

I read this quickly, and see now, it's not for youngsters, but about them. Our building manager is an avid reader. He's been watching the influx of books to our shleves with great delight. And, his name is Wayne. I think this little book of stories is headed his way(ne). :)
