I just received this book for Christmas from a friend. It is one of her all time favorites and after reading it I understand why.

What a remarkable story of perseverance! The best memoir I have ever read.

It was a rainy day in Salema and I'd run out of books to read. I found the Glass Castle in the television lounge of the Salema beach hotel. Have brought it back to Macclesfield, Cheshire, England and have given it to my PA to read and release. It is without doubt a remarkable story of perseverance with a happy ending. It's a great read.

CAUGHT IN SALEMA ALGARVE PORTUGAL

Involved emotionally with this book. Two selfish and inconsiderate parents who should never have had children. I was willing her not to give the money to her father.

Travelling in China Oct/Nov 2008 - picked up a tour and met a lovely lady Hillary, from the UK, who
was not only a Pink Floyd Fan like myself, but also loved reading and had just finished this book.
I bought if back to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia and now have sent it on it's way to
Mount Maunganui in the North Island of New Zealand! Great read!
