Ali Anderson is determined to stand on her own two feet - even if it means spending Christmas alone. Because for Ali, Christmas is not the season of good cheer but a poignant reminder of the tragedy that not so long ago tore her life apart and destroyed he once-happy marriage to Elliot.
In a defiant gesture of independence she turns down Elliot's unexpected invitation to spend Christmas with him and his father, but gives in to her friend Sarah's cajoling to share the festive period with her. The only trouble is, it means having to be nice to Sarah's awful husband Trevor. Sarah may be a saint for putting up with him, but Ali is no such thing. As Trevor's cranky behaviour escalates, Ali takes it on herself to play God with her friend's incomprehensible marriage - with consequences she could never have imagined...

This book arrived today at my local Post Office ~ as a total surprise! Thank you so very much, Kera, for thinking of me. I was introduced to Erica James as an Author last year, when I picked up one of her books for a Challenge Release and then started reading it and couldn't put it down . . . this is truly a recognition that an 'Act of Faith' has been reinforced ~ Cliff's WishList really does work!
Can't wait to read this one, and I truly appreciate this gift. :-)

Finished reading this book today. I like the writing of Erica James and have read several of her novels in the past. This book was good however I found the story line a little far-fetched in sections, and it was a long read with some sections that were boring so I would skim quickly to keep the story moving. Not my favourite of the books by this British author that I have read.
