This Dreamtime story of the Ngarinyin people tells the story of the big mother sun and her daughter, who used to shine on the Earth together in the old days, and how daughter sun once had to brave a frightening adventure...

Beautifully illustrated by schoolkids from the Kimberley, and narrated in a way that is easy to appreciate.

Currently the only copy of this book registered in BookCrossing, by the way. :)

Die Bilder sind ja recht farbenfroh. Es ist schön einmal eine Geschichte aus der Traumzeit kennen zu lernen. Bleibt in der Box.

Taken out of the Australia-bookbox - nice to read a story of the dreamtime (which was mentioned in the novel "Traumzeit", which I put in the Australia-bookbox, b.t.w.)
Will probably go in the SCZ which I plan to open at my school in the new year. Thank you!

I finally read this book for the "Bergabbauchallenge" (March: books with animals or plants in the title).

It's a nice little book, telling an Aboriginal Story, beautifully illustrated with paintings of children.

From the back cover:
"We want our children to see the daylight and the sun go down on our land, the home of the Dreamtime, and to live there to their old age and really understand their culture" (David Mowaljarlai)

For the moment it will become part of our class library.
