On a secret santa journey
Thank you Secret Santa, I must admit I could not resist opening my present.
I love books about China, they intrigue me, the lifestyle, the persecution, the resilience.
This one was a bit different for me because this time they faught back against the "opresser", in this case the plant bosses who were living high on the hog while the "workers" were passed over for housing.
This was a great study in persistence, which in Maoist china is extremely amazing as all other books I have read show that to stand out is almost certain death but definitely exile.
This was a quick little read, I knocked it over in a couple of very enjoyable hours.
