This is on its way to dotdot as a holiday treat.
Thank you for a lovely parcel, Eicuthbertson. It really was a great holiday treat. Like so many women I love Jane Austen. I look forward to reading this book about her. It's too bad I can't start reading it right now.
Thank you for a lovely ornament, too. And a cute bookmark and card. I'm not sure if this was an ornament exchange or Secret Santa parcel. In either case it made me very glad.
(Edit: It was an ornament exchange.)

Thank you again, Eicuthbertson. I have read all Jane Austen's complete novels (and The Watsons + Sanditon + Catharine), but I haven't read any Austen biographies before this. I didn' t even know Jane Austen was separated from her family in early childhood. That was more or less shocking to me. And I thought the engagement mentioned in Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor was fabricatated by the author. That's how ignorant I was. Shields' text was light and easy to read and i enjoyed it a lot.

I arranged a RABCK draw to celebrate my birthday and Valentine's Day. I offered this book as a price. Lucky winner is Elina from Oulu. Book is on it's way to her already.
Thank you so much dotdot. The book arrived today with lovely bookmarks. I was very happy to win this particular RABCK contest. I too have read all of Jane Austen's published novels, but never read any biographies. This is going to be an interesting read.
I really enjoyed reading this book and learning more about Jane Austen. There were a lot of new things to me and like dotdot I was also surprised of the fact that Jane Austen was separated from her family in early childhood. I'm glad I got a chance to read this book. Now I'm sending it on as a surprise rabck to another Jane Austen fan.
What a nice surprise. As you must have seen from my wishlist, and my bookshelf (if you checked that out), I am also a big Jane Austen Fan. I have read all of her completed novels and The Watsons, and branched out to modern works that have continued Austen's stories, but have not read a Biography yet. I look forward to reading it. Maybe even, tonight. Thank You again for the wonderful surprise!
