Taken from the back cover:

A series of murders as far apart as the backstreets of New York, the crowded slums of India and the pristine beaches of Cape Town can't be connected. Can they? Rookie New York Times reporter Will Monroe thinks not -until his beautificul wife Beth is kidnapped. The men holding her seem ready to kill without hesitation.

Desperate, Will follows a sinister trail that leads to a mysterious cult - fanatical followers of one of the world's oldest religions - right on his own doorstep. Now he must unravel ancient prophecies and riddles buried deep in the Bible to find a secret worth killing for, a secret on which the fate of humanity may depend. But with more victims dying every hour and each clue wrapped in layers of code, time is running out ......

Knowing i really liked Dan Browns books, this was passed to me by my daughter. However having read it,in my opinion in no way shape or form does it equal or surpass Dan Browns writings.
I found the too many Hebrew references a distraction and i only persevered till the end out of curiosity as to its conclusion.

Really enjoyable read, quite compulsive, always anxious to read the next chapter to see what happens. Highly recommended book.

I can't believe I first bought this in 2006! The delay in reading it was proably due to a number of bad reviews I'd read - including my Dad's.

However, I didn't think it was that bad - I thought the characters were well written and the subject interesting, if a little far fetched and I liked the twists near the end. It kept me turning the pages, although a challenge to Dan Brown (as per the Mirror's quote), it is not, and I also didn't think it was a riped off the Da Vinci Code either.

Entertaining and overall a good read.
