For those familiar with the history of the French Revolution this book is fantastic. Unfortunately my memory of that historical period is sketchy so not enough detail was given in some areas of the story. What makes it even more difficult reading is that there is much digression into politics, the lives of others at court etc. The subject matter is huge.
