I loved the book Bridget Jones Diary, have heard this sequel is also good. [In point of fact, I like it slightly better than the first in the series.]

Journal Entry 3 by battlesysadmin from Redwood City, California USA on Wednesday, March 30, 2005
I just picked this up, along with an unlabeled set of Louis Vuitton travel books, at Barefoot Coffee Roasters. No one there could tell me the next meetup, so it might be a good promotional idea to post a schedule or let the baristas know it.

I LOVED the original Bridget Jones's Diary, recommended it to many people, and in the end, the person I passed it on to did not bother to visit Bookcrossing and log in comments! I will try to make it to my first meeting next month 4/12. As soon as I read this volume, I will add my comments and set it free again.

Thank you for providing reading (and laughing) material for my upcoming plane trip this weekend.

Thanks to your suggestion, a mini-invitation to upcoming meet-ups will be posted at the bookcase in the store, and the barristas will be notified they are there. Great idea.

Journal Entry 5 by battlesysadmin from Redwood City, California USA on Wednesday, April 6, 2005
Thank you, AmberLee17, for providing the book!

The review: OK, maybe I was tired, but I didn't enjoy Edge of Reason as much as the original. Yes, I had a few chuckles. No, it wasn't "my stomach hurts from laughing" funny. Again, maybe it was me. I might not identify as much with Bridget's new status as a woman with a boyfriend.

Bridget still finds herself in many delightful (for the reader) scrapes. I especially enjoyed the incidents that revolve around her job. There aren't as many drunken episodes as there were in the first book, and I kind of miss those. Perhaps Helen Fielding is on the wagon? I felt more of a connection to Bridget's father in this book. The little comments at the beginning of each journal entry continue to be one of my favorite aspects of both books.

If I hadn't liked the first book so much, I might have bumped this one up to an 8 or even a 9... is that fair?
