Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close: A Novel

Technically, this is a wonderful book. It pulls an amazing variety of voices/narrators (including one of the best child voices I've read in a long time), descriptive techniques and visuals together into a cohesive, and non-gimmicky story.
In terms of the topic and the story, although its setting is very much post-September 11, it will withstand the test of time with a simple, heartbreaking and cathartic tale of loss, grief and healing.
