"Sam Vimes is a man on the run. Yesterday he was a duke, a chief of police and the ambassador to the mysterious, fat-rich country of Uberwald. Now he has nothing but his native wit and the gloomy trousers of Uncle Vanya (don't ask). It's snowing. It's freezing. And if he can't make it through the forest to civilization there's going to be a terrible war. But there are monsters on his trail. They're bright. They're fast. They're werewolves - and they're catching up. Sam Vimes is out of time, out of luck and already out of breath..."

Another brilliant Terry Pratchett book. What more can I say?

Arrived in the post today. Thanks eponine254. I read this a while back, but in a hurry. So am looking forward to reading it again.

And really pleased to have received a RABCK from another South African bookcrosser.

Terry Pratchett just gets better and better. And everytime I read one of his books I enjoy it more.

This was funny and thrilling and literary (I loved the intertextual references to classic Russian literature).

Thanks for sharing it with me eponine254. I will be giving this to davidseven next week when I am in PE. So it gets to go to a third city, travelling almost as much as Sam Vimes:)

Good as always.
I have read this one a few times before, but Terry Pratchet is someone you can always get something out of everytime you read it. I love the dwarf opera.

I have offered this book to a Bookcrosser in the Netherlands in exchange for one I have been looking for for a while.

It will probably cost as much to send this hard-cover overseas as it would to just buy the book. :)

But I always like to get a book out of SA to where it might actually get registered and released. Especially such a popular and good quality book, which I would never want to leave lying around.

The gloomy trousers of uncle vanya are travelling to Netherlands. (In-joke, for those of you who enjoy the famous Ankh Morpork Sense of humour, without the sheeps bladder.)

I posted this book today to Rapturina in the Netherlands in a 'prisoner' exchange.

So now the book gets to cross borders to strange lands, just like Samuel Vimes.

Arrived here this morning! The book is accompanied by a smell that strongly reminds me of eucalypt, which makes me wonder where the book has been on its way here, or whether that's just what South Africa smells like? Either way, it gives the book a distinctly exotic vibe, so it's all good. :D

Thank you so much Davidseven for sending this all the way from South Africa!

Finally got around to reading this... I must be honest and say I didn't like it as much as other Discworld novels I've read, but maybe that's because the subject matter wasn't really my thing. And there wasn't enough of Death in this novel - he's my favourite character. :D

Still, I did enjoy reading it, Pratchett has such a unique style and his jokes always make me chuckle.

No idea yet what I am going to do with this book now, probably try and find another interested reader... :D

This book is no longer on my bookshelf, no idea though where I released it... I probably gave it to a friend or left it on a public bookshelf. If you have it, I'd love to hear where you picked it up, haha!
