I LOVE Carl Hiaasen's books. He's funny, clever and the eco-themes to his thrillers stricke a chord. Clever women, great anti-heroes, deeply unpleasant villains and the main heroes are the animals and the environment. Great stuff!

This arrived yesterday morning, thank you very much Plad2 :-)
I have a couple of rings to finish first (why do they always arrive at once?)but I'm looking forward to reading this soon.

I did enjoy this. Hiaasen is always funny but one thing that I love about his books is the way he writes such strong female characters. His writing allows the characters and action to unfold in front of you, almost as if you were watching a screenplay - in fact I would love to see this as a film.
I did enjoy the villain's gruesome come-uppance as well :-)

Arrived this morning, thank you very much. Mt. Toobie isn't very high.
I sound like an echo, but I love Carl Hiaasen. Yes, strong women, well-rounded characters, great stories, and, always, a lesson on the fragile ecology of Florida and, by implication, the earth.
Now, if I just knew what to do with it next.

A very good read and was very enjoyable, just thinking who I can send this book on to.
This came as a surprise to me today, along with a ring book that has returned home. Thank you to nuttymum for sending this to me! It's not an author I've tried before but I'm always open to new books and will put this on the ever growing TBR pile!
