Fantastic book. It plays with the standard ideas of typography and our expectations thereof. But also, it is good. You are tired. You are true of heart!

At first I wondered if I was going to enjoy this book. I'd heard that it trailed off somewhere around the middle. Yet from the second I picked it up, I couldn't put it down, I devoured every word (yes, even the preface, the acknowledgements and the bit tagged on to the end 'Mistakes we knew we were making') The humour was right up my steet. How funny can two parents dying be? Somehow Eggers manages it, which I think is what makes this book stand out. This of course doesn't stop the book from being poignant at times, the humour seems to make it more so.

Thank so much for sending this book to me, I've been wanting to read it for a ages. I'm sorry for the long delay in it being journalled, I've been away all summer and have only just been back home to collect my post. I'll journal again once I've read it. Thanks again.
Donated this book to either the British Heart Foundation charity shop, the Cancer Research charity shop or the Eden Hospice charity shop in Carlisle.
