got a bit bogged down in the vacuity of the protagonist and his lifestyle - i know that was the point, light relief provided by sex and violence. best bit - when Victor says he's crying because he has on a pair of uncomfortable socks from Gap, know what he means - who's vacuous now? no real conclusion to the story. Has to be read in the context of the time it was published, the culturally hip references of 98 don't always have the same resonance in 06
