A gift from my sister, especially for crossing.

I decided to give it a go, before letting it go, and it turned out to be quite something, this book. Although it looks like one in a many chicklit, it is far beyond that. This book deals not with career women chasing a handsome and honest Prince Charming, it deals with the next stage: when you have landed your prince and continue pursuing your career until after some years you and your prince decide to make some little princes and princesses. Then the juggling begins, not in the least with your feelings of guilt, both towards work, children and prince. Reading this book, with its little gems of wisdom here and there, was uncannilly well timed for me - with a seven month old son, feeling the tugging of ambition at the opening of career opportunities and expecting not quite exactly but largely the same struggles as this heroine had. I forgave the author the inconsistencies in the story, because the story came close to my heart. With a badge of courage for all working mothers out there.

I forgot to take a book with me on a spa date with my friends. So it was a great surprise to find a bookcrossing book (my first!). Sorry it took me a while to plough through this book. Not that it's dull, but it's not really my thing. The book gave me a little fright to even think of children in the demanding career world...
I will send this book travelling and hope to hear of anyone soon who picks it up.
