It has gone straight to the top of Mount TBR and I am loving it!

Already have plans for passing this one on and it is reserved to answer Suedo's"Friend of a friend" challenge.Part 2

"Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down it's pages, its spirit grows and strengthens"

I loved this book. I was hooked from the beginning by the explanation of young Daniel being taken to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books at 5 o'clock in the morning. I loved the characters within the book and the depth of them. I adored the way Daniel's life mirrored that of Julian but had a positive ending. I was pleased and relieved by the ending - for a change these days!

I don't agree with those who say the translation is clumsy and that put them off. I think it added to the charm of the book and that those that look beyond the veneer of the language are rewarded with a story in it's purest form.

Thank you so much Supertellp for sharing this with me. It is truely lovely!

I definitely enjoyed this book. I guessed much too soon some of the mysteries, but somehow that wasn't the point and it did not spoil it. Thank you again!

I'll be sending this off soon to MyaStone as it came to me, a Wish List RABCK....

Journal Entry 10 by MyaStone from Cary, North Carolina USA on Tuesday, January 9, 2007
i just finished this book tonight, at the stroke of midnight. it has been a long time since i have read a book that i loved so much, that i dont think i found any flaws in (and i always have some complaint). i was so happy that it kept going on and on, and though i tried it took me quite awhile to figure out the twists (which i agree, did not ruin anything), and many surprised me. i am very excited to rabck it and even more excited that i get to look for my own copy. in my own version of the cemetary of forgotten books, i hope to come upon this book years from now in a used book shop or at a library book sale, so i can feel the joy of finding an old friend after all those years.

excuse me for being so effusive, but it is a bit late and the book was quite good. thank you so much tracyshannon for sending it my way, and all before you for sharing.
