The Flamingo Book of New Scottish Writing
2 journalers for this copy...
Picked this up in a charity shop and it is a fantastic collection of short stories. There are some written in Scottish dialect which are fun to try and read - I had to read them out loud to get going with them =). I expecially liked the stories about the dyslexic little schoolgirl and her hieroglyphics - she was such a character; the trip to Thailand - Mr Sing was brilliant; the little old lady Ivy was a bittersweet story... oh, and the story about the return to homeland Egypt after living in Aberdeen for several years. That was good too.
