Very interesting nonfiction book about thirty six conscientious objectors during World War II who volunteered to become guinea pigs for a starvation project. The purpose was to study the best way to rehabilitate those people who had been severely underfed during the long war.
The book can be very graphic and includes pictures of the actual test subjects. It is a book that makes one think.
