Personally I don't think it's fair that someone so talented in one field, acting--- no, wait a minute, he directed that movie, "The Anniversary Party", too--- and--- oh no, did he write it as well--- aggh--- he did, and co-produced it. Okay, this is just wrong. That he should be a talented novelist as well--- I protest. Thank god, the book's not perfect. But it is delightful. Still, a clearly unfair quantity of talent was doled out to Alan Cumming, and I, for one, am going in o a corner to sulk.

This is Tommy's Tale. This is a book that is sweet in a way that I've never really encountered before. It was not written to be one of those books of amazing literary value. Instead, I believe this book was made for a person to earn a small piece of enjoyment. And that's what I did.

Our protagonist is Tommy, a debaucherous, bisexual London fellow on the brink of turning 30. Drug, alcohol, sex. Tommy is not a character who says "no" to many things. But in the book we find Tommy trying to settle down a bit, and it really scares him. I can really only say that it was an enjoyable book.

Release planned for Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Rose Blumkin Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska USA.

I plan to release this book on the 30th of this month, at the Rose Theater.

I am part of a teenage acting troupe at the Rose called Pride Players. Our goal is educate our community what it is like to be gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or a straight ally in the Omaha area. The 30th is our performance, and I think that someone coming to our show might like to read this book. Besides, I don't think there are many people in any theater around the world who are not familiar with Alan Cumming (this book's author) and his performance in Cabaret. I think this book will have a good chance of being picked up!

I found my own book! My friend Emily and I were in a great used bookstore in Omaha called the Antiquarium, and I saw a copy of Tommy's Tale on the shelf. I picked it up and looked inside, and sure enough it was the same book I released months ago! I haven't seen it, of course, since I released it. Whoever found the book at the theater didn't come to BookCrossing to journal its adventure.

Well, I don't believe that people should have to pay for books that are meant to be free, so I bought it for Emily and told her about this web site. I told her she could read it and send it along its way again. Hopefully, she will be sure to journal.
