The Hallowed Hunt is the third part of the Chalion trilogy or better the third book in the Chalion universe, because the books are independend from each other.
Lord Ingrey kin Wolfscliff is supposed to transport the slain prince Boleso and his killer, young Lady Iiada to the capital - quietly, without fuss.
But with spirit animals, murderous geas and high politics even a simple strait travel road becomes a rocky path.
I liked it better than Paladin of Souls, but The Curse of Chalion is still my favorite book out of the trilogy. The Hallowed Hunt has strong charakters, action and romance in it, but for all his problems Ingrey appeared not so much troubled but glum and pessimistic. And the basic concept is the same as the first and second: God(s) trying to correct a problem through unsuspecting and rather unwilling humans.

Caught with the English Fantasy Book Box.
To be read at the moment, since this one was intended for a longer stay with me.

Somehow Bujold's beloved concept of "what's the worst I can do to this guy" does not work out as good in Fantasy as it did in SciFi.
I haven't yet decided if this one simply is a weaker work of her Fantasy books or the proof that she's getting worse from book to book.
