Despite Anne Tyler's prominence as an author, this story lacked substance and depth. It did contain many good philosophies and valuable lessons on common every day life situations. It does make you stop at various points and evaluate your own circumstances and there-in lies its redeeming qualities. I will be interested in hearing other responses to this book.
