Journal Entry 1 by Der-Karotte from Rodgau, Hessen Germany on Thursday, September 28, 2006
This book leaded me to be a member of BookCrossing.
After my maths lessons in late afternoon i ran down the stairs to the subway and got my train home in the last seconds.
I sat down on a seat and saw a book beside me. A pink paperback, about one inch. I asked the woman near me if she was the owner of the book, she said no and i watched this strange book for a while and remembered, that my brother aked me some months ago for an association who left book on park benches and some other puplic places. We listened a radio report about it some years ago.
I wanted to know if there was a stamp of this association in the book, but the i don't wanted , that people see me browsing through a book for women.
I took my own book and read till the inquisitiveness had grown too big and i pretended to be tired from my own book and stoped reading.
I looked around the wagon, then i took the pink book and watched in the back and the front for a print of a rubber stamp but there was no one.
Then I surveied the book. It seemed to never read, the was a label form a book store, because it's price was reduced but I couldn't read the bokk store's name. One buckled Pace in the middle, I read the text one the back of the book - not my liking of books.
I was thinking about to give it to a lost-property office (anything which was found in the trains at the terminal stop will be wasted), but i wanted to go home and not to stray at the end of line for this office the whole night - and I had to work the next day.
I played a while with this thought, should I do or should I not.
One station before I normally had to left the train I changed my plan.
The train arrived at my station and the people around me stood up and walked slowly toward the door. I opend my rucksack and made some room.
After nearly all people around me had gone away, I pluged the book into my rucksack and headed for the just closing train door got through it and went home.
I asked in the IRC channel of Wikipedia if thew know the name of the association which is leaving books on puplic places and arived at BookCrossing.
Now the book is free to lead other people to join the community into the world of traveling books.

(I'm sory for that BSE (Bad Simple English), but I read a englisch book before and don't wanted to write in german, also other people can read this, although they get stomach pain while doing)
