Yes, I did take this book camping for the October long weekend. There was an eight-year-old there who was somewhat distressed by the picture on the cover of a hamster being held at gunpoint, but she got over it.
These books are so much fun, even if they don't vary much from each other. Thanks for the opportunity to get into the series at last! Happily, there are lots more of them out there - currently eleven or even twelve, I think.

Oh how brainless! Lots of fun, though at times she's a little too clueless for my liking. I'll certainly keep my eye out for more of them, but I think that, like so many of these series (I'm looking at you, Grafton), the character will get annoying long before the series ends.
