Currently reading this and very much enjoying it. I've heard that Alex Haley was found guilty of plagiarising some of the content and was discredited in that some of the early life of Kunta Kinte could not have been discerned but that hasn't put me off. When I'm done, this one will be out in the open, unless my wife wants to read it!

Really enjoyed this book - I found myself constantly reading it and was surprised when I got to the end. The last couple of chapters where the author was narrating in the first person weren't so great, but I think that was because of what I read on his Wikipedia page in that it is now recognised that the story isn't quite true. Nevertheless, this is a recommended read.
