Rules:
- please journal the book when you get it
- have fun reading it°
- when you've finished, please PM the next person on the list. If they ask to be skipped (for whatever reason), PM the next person after them.
- please, and I know this is going to sound weird, keep the book for at least four weeks before you send it on to give slower readers the chance to catch up without having the next three instalments to worry about. Don't worry if you need longer – some of the classics can be quite difficult to get into… And surface mail is absolutely fine!
- make a journal entry when you're sending it on.
- ENJOY!

Arrived safely today, thanks gargoylianne! Haven't read this one before, only ever read The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy. I have a few bookrings to read before this one, but plenty of reading time over the Christmas holidays!

Quite enjoyed this, although I maybe shouldn't have read them all in one go. I also liked A Tragedy of Two Ambitions, and also The Withered Arm. Thanks for sharing, Sudokris! classicfox asked to be skipped, so I sent it to iamagirldork on 5 February.

Received yesterday...This one I'll hang onto for a few months since I got it early (and still am not finished with the other two received). This one looks good though :)

wow...I went on here to report that I was trying to pass it on and realized that I never journalled receiving it! I'm so sorry! I received this in early August. Aine-eireann is no longer interested in being a part of the ring and booberst has not responded. I just PM'd leseschaf and am waiting to hear back.

First notes
As there are several tales and I'm not sure if I really want to read all of them I gave my impressions one after antoher. I just finished The Distracted Preacher and really don't know what to think of it. The only thing I can say is that I like the second ending better, when Lizzy didn't marry Stockdale, because I think it fits better.

26.11.2007: Sorry, that's not my book. I tried, but now I gave up. Tales are nothing for me so I had to give Thomas Hardy another try with one of his novels.

lesezeichen and solleile want to be skipped so I think the book can travel home?!

14.12. - travelling home

Returned to my parents' place in Germany before Christmas. I completely forgot to journal it (due to Christmas etc.).

Thanks everyone for taking part, hope you enjoyed it.
