From the back:
Smart, independent and sexy, Helen MacFarquhar owns a tiny bookshop in an idyllic seaside town. Where her life is exactly as she planned it, comfortable and full. But then an anonymous letter arrives in her mail one steamy summer morning. Written by an unknown lover to a mysterious beloved, the letter becomes Helen's obesession. 'How do you fall in love?' the letter asks. To her dismay, Helen finds out, when the letter propels her into a fiercely tender love affair with Johnny, a student working in her shop.
Cathleen Schine's delicious comedy of manners is a sparkling and sophisticated ode to the seductions of modern love and old-fashioned letters.
November 2006: A nice story... including books and letters... two things I truly love.
January 2008: reserved for Marta in Portugal via Bookmooch

Thanks, Petra! I have already this book from a loan and wanted a copy for myself! I just browsed some pages and went right for the actual letter around which the book revolves. I love it!
