A few years ago I picked this up because I was going through a phase of devouring everything I could find by Chuck Palahniuk. But after Lullaby, Survivor and Fight Club, and about a third of Choke, I began to get tired of the endless gross details and unremitting cynicism, so I never did get around to reading this book.
Maybe someone else will be more enthusiastic about it...

My boyfriend released this in the grounds of Belfast City Hall. Shortly afterwards he saw one of the rubbish collectors shove it into his bin-bag. That says so much about how some people regard books - it's not seen as something to look closer at or put in the lost property box; just as something disposable and of low monetary value like a newspaper. Reading material? Made of paper? It's junk.
