I loved this book! It was a fun read. It's a new take on the genre. Former public defender attorney, Juliet Applebaum is staying at home to raise her daughter, Ruby. She loves being a mommy, but occasionally misses the excitement of life as a public defender. When a mystery lands in her lap (the head of the pre-school they're trying to get Ruby in, is killed), she can't resist "helping" the surly detective assigned to the case. Anyone who's been pregnant and raised that child will enjoy this one. She writes amusingly about all those little urges and swellings. I will definitely read another in this series.
