Wow! What a book. I can see why Toni Morrison is a Literature Nobel Prize winner! I found the start of the book quite challenging as the story moved around quite a bit (which is classic Morrison) but once it settled, you could see why the beginning was needed. I almost feel like anything I say would not do it justice but as blue1236 said, it was extremely powerful.
Thanks for the opportunity to read it!

Not sure if this is the right copy of Sula but what the heck. This is my second reading of this excellent book. Haunting and a touch tortured. Anyway the reason for my strange opening sentence is that I WILD released the book on the train. I was 'accosted' on Newtown railway station by Skeaz Loren, the rapper. With the video camera rolling he asked what I was reading. I told him and said if I finished it by the time the train came I would give it to him. As the train rolled into Stanmore I walked into the next carriage and gave the book to him with an explanation of BookCrossing. He was impressed - watch out for it on YouTube in a week or so... Oh, oh, it's now online. You'll need to watch 4 minutes of tagging before you see me and the book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaeyqziW42c
