That's what it says in the blurb:

Mrs. Frisby, a widowed mouse with four small children, must move her family to their summer quarters immediately, or face almost certain death. But her youngest son, Timothy, lies ill with pneumonia and must not be moved. Fortunately, she encounters the rats of NIMH, an extraordinary breed of highly intelligent creatures, who come up with a brilliant solution to her dilemma.

I decided to read this book because I know the film (where the mouse is called Mrs. Brisby for some reason), and I just _love_ the rat clan. (I've got my own clan at home, currently consisting of four sisters, and I'm just waiting for them to start stealing my electricity or something like that...) ;)

This one's going on a journey...
I'm giving it (as a "controlled release") to Secundus - who simply needs to read the passage about "the second mouse", since it's got so much to do with his alias... ;)
Besides, the book's great, so why not hand it around a bit?!

Thanks for the book, anathema-device, I did very much enjoy re-reading it. Got to see the film sometimes. :)

Didn't find the "second mouse" part, maybe that's in another book of your vast collection. ;)

For some reason the last entry was swallowed by the database.
The book is back home on the shelf with my **** Permanent Collection ****, and the passage we were looking for is actually from Terry Pratchett's The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents.
