Did I ever!!! This series and these authors are my absolute faves!! I literally gasped when I took this book out of the package. I usually keep these for my permanent collection but I will pass this on to another BC member in Australia that loves this series to. I need to read 'People of the Raven' prior to this one but I'm so excited to have this in my hands :) Thanks again - great choice!! So happy right now.

The moon had reached its maximum three times since the Chacoans conquered the First Moon People. In the white light of the lunar maximum, the Pueblo gods will dance--and an empire will be engulfed in flames and mayhem.
I am impressed by the sad truth expressed in the foreword that visitors to the archaeological sites will hear no mention of violence, burials, witchcraft or other “culturally sensitive“ information. Atrocities occur regularly in prehistory as well as the modern world. Why do we hide this when “in remembrance lies redemption”?
