I found this book on the bookshelf at the back of the cafe as our semi-spontaneous supplemental Boston BookCrossing Meetup was finishing up. (I remember going to my first BookCrossing Meetup nearly five years ago at Cafe Bella Vita. I organized this supplemental meetup at Bella Vita for old-times sake.) I'm a big fan of Gone With the Wind. I remember when this book came out and Margaret Mitchell's estate tried to prevent it from being published.... which only served to increase the book's visibility. It's one I've been meaning to read at some point since I read about it in the book news. I'll read it and pass it along when I'm done. Thank you!
Released to another bookcrosser at the August 2010 Boston Bookcrossing Tuesday night meetup at Algiers Cafe in Harvard Square.
I thought this book was well written, and followed the book Gone with the Wind rather well. It gave a different perspective to how people perceived others during this time period. I would recommend this book to people to read if they like historical fiction.
