The Devil Wears Prada: Movie Tie-In

I forced myself to get through this to see if there were any redeeming qualities. Hard to believe it's not only a best-seller, but also has been translated into several languages so other readers can suffer through it. This is a case of a movie being far better than the book. If you enjoy a complete whine about a job she could have quit, a laundry list of what the "devil" made her do, endless dropping of fashion names/clothes, then this is for you. Weisberger is one smart opportunist. She obviously enjoyed all the perks - the clothes, limos, parties, associated prestige - then turned it into a lucrative revenge.
I have heard from several friends that this is a crappy book. I enjoyed the movie very much though. So...in typical me fashion, I have to see how bad it really is for myself.
Released last nite at a BX meeting at Rebecca's.
