I think I will never finish this book. I loved the story of Desdemona and Lefty, their life in "the old country", love and first years in America. Besides them I really don't feel that much for any of the other characters in this book.
It's possible that I will give this book another chance later on, but this copy will go to Potok-fan, whom I'll hopefully meet in a couple of weeks.

Every few months I read the first couple of pages, but haven't gotten hooked. Ghir's birthday RABCK has got me going through my shelves and moving books to AVL - this is one I'm ready to let go of if the RABCK winner picks it.
