Undead and Unpopular

Yes!!!!! The newest installment in this great series! I have so much to read right now but I am sure this will be read before the week is out :)
When I am finished with this book it will go out on a ring like my other 'Undead' books.
This was read really quickly! I just couldn't wait to read the next installment! I won't say much about what happened in this one but there were some new characters and a few new spanners thrown into Betsy's life!
I was a little upset that George the fiend and his partner didn't play more of a part in this book. I thought that they would star a bit more in the next story after them being introduced in the 'Dead and Loving it' short story.
However another great book in a great series! It will go out on a ring soon...need to send off a few more and collect the names first!
Please make a journal entry as soon as you recieve the book and also when you send it to the next person. Then we know where the book is!
When you are finished with the book please PM the next person on the list and ask for their address so you can send it on to them!
I would appreciate a PM from any participant who wants to leave the ring or be skipped for any reason. Please do not leave it to the last minute.
Also let us know what you thought of the book but don't give too much away!
The order may change to accommodate for the postal preferences of the ring members.
Lastly if you have nicer bookcrossing labels or stickers then decorate the book a little! Also stick a postcard from your country in with a message! Could be fun :)
Please try to read this book within 4 weeks. If it isn't possible please make a new journal (no edits!) giving an update! Thank you!
This Bookring is still open! Pm if you would like to join!

Thanks Amber, have been looking forward to this latest instalment. :oD
I do love the Betsy series, but I was a bit disappointed that this instalment was so short - I managed to read it on one day - half on the bus to work, half on the way back. It didn't seem to have as much internal plot as the previous books, more of a "day in the life" kinda thing going on. Shame really, but I still can't wait for more Betsy, especially to see how the unholy wedding works out!
Off to contact sunlightbub!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
On its way to sunlightbub for some Halloween spookiness - make sure you read this after Dead and Loving It. ;o)
Thanks for the tip Nat!
Received today..THanks all for sharing xxxxxxxxx
Another quick read.
I didn't feel that much actually happened in this one, but still can't wait to see what happens next..How long is the wedding going ot be dragged out for..I wanna see the dress!!!
Pm'd welshhelen for her address.
Arrived safely today. Thanks, sunlightbub.
For some reason, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others - nothing much seemed to happen, though there was some momentous news! I did get rather irritated at Betsy's reaction to the news - very selfish - but then that's Betsy :-)
I have LittleMoo's address, but I'll check with her that she's ready for this one. Thanks - once again - for sharing, Amberkatze :-)
Posted to LittleMoo second class today. Sorry for the delay.
Book arrived this morning - thanks Welshhelen!
Nearly finished the previous book in the series so i'll start on this one straight after!
This series just keeps getting better and better! I have to ask any US readers though...exactly what is a 'Hospital Johnny'??? It conjured up all sorts of images for me as a 'johnny' in the UK is a condom (sheath)!!
Book will be posted to Celticstar as soon as i've finished 'Dead and Loving it' (don't worry I read 'A fiend in need' first!) as she's also next in line for that too and i'm about a day away from finishing it.
*Update* Sorry didn't manage to post it till today!
Received a couple of days ago, many thanks
LittleMoo... a Hospital Johnny is one of those lovely gowns they give you to wear in hospital that tie at the back. Then when you forget what you're wearing and start wondering around the ward you end up showing your backside to the world :-)
I also felt that this book was lacking some of the magic found in the previous books but it was still an enjoyable read and I look forward to the next one.
Very short, not a lot of sex, a filler perhaps? Glad I got the book of short stories otherwise I would have been disappointed with this one.
Still looking forward to the next on though. How is Sinclair going to cope with the wedding?
Got this in the mail today, with very mixed feelings. On one hand, I loved the previous Betsy-books, but I've been reading Dead and Loving It
today, and it's awful. Sorry Amberkatze! I'll try to read this 5th Betsy book with an open mind, and hopefully I can get the sour taste out of my mouth...
Undead and Unpopular was a light and funny read, and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't as good as the previous books though. It felt chaotic, with lots and lots of different plotlines (what the hell was the zombie doing in the attic?). It looks like MaryJanice Davidson is aiming for a long series, and the books are less and less standalone. What I liked about the two first books in this series was that they had a clear plot that got a resolution at the end. The third book was good too, but from the fourth book onward the stories seem to jumble together, so that you don't know where one ends and the next begins.
I didn't like that Antonia and Garrett were almost completely absent in this book. I really liked them in the novella in Dead and Loving It. What I don't like is that you have to read the short story to understand why Garrett is suddenly talking and is no longer called "George the Fiend". I hated the other three stories in Dead and Loving It, and I don't like that we have to pay the full price of the book to be able to read every installment in the Undead series. So thank you Amberkatze for setting up bookrings for these books! I'm eternally grateful for having had a chance to read Dead and Loving It without buying it! ;)
I really hope MaryJanice Davidson knows where she is going with this series, and that she will write more good books about Betsy and her friends. I'll definitely continue reading these books. They're perfect when you need a laugh.
Sent the book to boomda181 in Canada this morning.

Undead and Unpopular:Amberkatze Ring
Released to macdonv,next on list.
Arrived! This goes right to the top of the pile - I love visiting with Betsy and Co.!
There didn't seem to be a lot going on in this one, but it was an enjoyable read anyway. Am I the only one who couldn't figure out just what the point was of the zombie in the attic?
I've PM'd joasik for an addy.
Just received it - thanks!
Just received it - thanks!
Another installment in the series which was quite enjoyable though I start to get tired with Betsy.
Great! Too bad I have more ringbooks at home at this moment, I doubt whether this book will on wait its turn. Probably will this book jump the queue...
Oh, dear. I have barely slept this night. Just to read and finish this book! I just couldn't wait to read this book and now I'm left with the feeling of wanting more...
Sigh...I love Betsy...

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
To the next reader!
Woohoo, Betsy arrived in Vienna today!
I'd love to start reading right away but have to wait till "Undead and Unreturnable" finds its way to me too *sigh*
This is a terrific Betsy tale that starts off with a Zombie and never slows down as all hell breaks loose on several fronts. Though amusing as usual, I find a more serious undertone there than in previous Undead books. Besides the Alonzo "crime" that puts quite a spin on cold cases, Betsy best friend human Jessica is ailing. This has the vampire queen pondering the ethics of bringing her across against her will.
Only negative point: this book was way too short for my liking ...
Thank you so much for getting this book back to me! I am glad the ring was a success and I am happy to put Betsy on my PC with her other books!
