Life in the California retirement community of Camden-Sur-Mer is following a comfortable routine. For Angela Benbow and Caledonia Wingate, that usually means a nap in the afternoon and a glass of sherry before dinner. But everybody likes a little variety, especially when daily activities involve creating craft projects from toothpicks. So the pair helps organize Spanish lessons for the group, inspiring a trip to Tijuana, Mexico. It's quite a change from Camden-Sur-Mer, too much, in fact, for one member of the outing, who doesn't make it back across the border alive. Then a second excursion to Ensenada for shopping and margaritas leaves the bus driver dead, and it is no longer possible to chalk up this lethal track record to, as some said, "the fickly finger of fate." By now Angela and Caledonia are in the thick of an investigation, and Angela is very close to discovering just who is responsible for the foul play - and to becoming the next victim.
