And when he arrives, Max finds that Charlie is not the only child to go missing in Haiti, where children's spirits are much prized in black magic. Can Max find Charlie and stop the child abductors?

A superior thriller, and the detailed descriptions of life and politics in Haiti give the novel much greater depth than some others in the genre. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the end.
