Wuthering Heights
6 journalers for this copy...
Definately one of my all time favorites--- so tragic--- some amazing prosaic lines (ie: the foilage/bedrock analogy--- gasp!)

I could not keep up with the tongue of this book.
ie: "They's nobbut t' mississ; and shoo'll nut oppen 't an ye mak yer flaysome dins till neeght."
Which apparently translated means:
"There's nobody but the missis, and she'll not open it [even] if you make your awful din till night."
Maybe someone else will enjoy it.

Received today; thanks Kab113. I'm up to my neck in books just now. It may take me a while to finish this. At least a month. If sleepymom's in a hurry to read this I'll gladly defer to her and catch it later.

I wasn't exactly gripped by this book. Everything about Heathcliff was repellent, including the racism implicit in such a character. Of course they were different times, but really. When I look at it as a species of fairy tale of the wicked changeling genre it gains a little in my estimation. "Flaysome" is my new favorite word. It's basically a revenge tale--not very interesting or edifying to my mind. I'm somewhat at a loss to understand what people see in it.

Received in the mail as part of a ray. Will make sure to read this next.
Finally finished. This was not a book that captured my interest much but I was determined to read it. It did get better after the first 100 pages or so. I hope the post office is open before I leave town on Monday so I can mail it to KAB.
