Another exciting travel narrative book in the package from thegoaliegirl in beautiful Spokane! Looking forward to this one, although it goes on the top of towering Mt. TBR for now.
Note to self -- this book is on MaryZee's wishlist -- offer it to her when read.
Fun and interesting read about the great road trip. From Tierra Del Fuego Argentina to Prudhoe Bay Alaska in under 24 days. Some of the references to events and people are clearly dated -- Baby Jessica in the well, Noriega in Panama, etc -- but the story felt rather timeless. Two guys against the clock, doing the nearly impossible under bizarre conditions, and bonding over the strangest things. Mad me laugh out loud more than once and kept me reading too late at night.
This is on MaryZee's wishlist and next month's meet up will be at her OBCZ, so I will hand this off to her then.

Taking this along to the meet-up today at Birdie's in Westminster so I can hand it off to MaryZee -- it's on her wishlist.

Thanks so much for this wishlist book, 6of8! I love travel narratives; who knows perhaps TheGoalieGirl's travel narrative bookbox is where I heard of this book :)
Sadly, MaryZee passed suddenly in September 2012. MaryZee's daughter is now ready to rehome her mom's books and I was willing to collect and redistribute them to keep her literary legacy alive.
I am setting this book aside for the Travel Narratives Book Box. MaryZee enjoyed participating in that book box and she has quite a few books that can be included. It seemed like another great way to share her legacy.
