I resisted the urge to read The Washingtonienne for a long time. I am not the kind of woman who reads trashy "smut." But I broke down and purchased the book and am glad. The fact that the novel is based on real experience is irresistible. The story has graphic sex and drug use, but is written with wit and intelligence. Reading this book is like catching Washington, D.C. with it's pants down. And there is nothing they can do about it.
