I just want to spread the joy of Pine Hollow all over, so when I saw a very cheap lot of five Pine Hollow books, how could I resist?
I'm going to spread them all over; hopefully they will reach horse crazy readers all over!

As it turned out... getting all 17 installments of Pine Hollow was not that easy, but I have gotten them all and I do plan to read them over the next few months.
I've just got around to reading #10 and I was quite pleased, although I am now getting a sneaking suspicion about Ben's attraction to Carole and why he keeps his distance. I think Ben's a big old redneck and although out this series and the earlier Saddle Club, Carole's skin color has barely gone remarked.
BUT Pine Hollow's all about growing up and letting illusions fall away to make room for the larger world... so I'm now waiting for Carole run into that most unpleasant reality.
There's also at least three other relationships that are about to undergo changes, so I expect the next issue or the one after that to contain a small racist explosion.
(copied over from my JE from the origanial copy of this book on my shelf. As it turns out, there's no racists in Pine Hollow, for better or worse. I mean, it IS human nature to some extent... I just wanted to see Carole deal with it. Oh well, maybe there will be an 18th book one of these days!).
