I listened to this book on audio last year and LOVED it. Such a wonderful story illustrating people's greed. Steinbeck does it again!

I''ve never had such an exciting experience with a book. :) I found it sitting on a bus stop bench and looked to see if there was a name or a library in it to get the book back to its owner and low and behold Bookcrossing! :) Lucky me!

I found it to be very accurate about a lifestyle from an indidgenous culture affected by so many other communities and cultures in the rest of the world. It''s simple reading with a simple moral, but also very telling of human experience, life''s givings and misfortunes, and the differences so evident in many cultures throughout the years and today. Love it!
