I found myself wondering what it would be like in French. It feels strange to read a translation into a language other than my mother tongue ...
The story of the book about the tragic disfigured genius phantom and the young singer Christine is well known, thanks to the musical and movies, but I still found it very interesting to read it in its original form. The style of writing is very Victorian and therefore quite "heavy", it isn't a light read and it takes time getting used to it. I recommend it, though :).
