One of my favorite chick-lit authors

From the back of the book:
A reunion with old schoolfriends can be a truly joyful occasion. Then again, as Camilla Stewart disvovers, sometimes it can change your world forever.
Meeting up again with Roz Vallender has devastating consequences for Camilla. Thankfully the outrageous Loulou Marks come to the rescue, persuading her that all is not lost. Loulou's own life might be completely chaotic but she's great at giving other people advice. And when Camilla starts taking it, she soon discovers that life in the fast lane is a lot more fun than being a cheated-on house-wife...

Journal Entry 4 by Pinkagirl from Newport, Shropshire United Kingdom on Saturday, August 26, 2006
Another good Jill Mansell. This book however, seemed to span far more of the people in it's life. It was spread over at least 4 years. Regularly I think things happen so quick for the characters in Jill's books. But this one you knew what you wanted to happen and other things kept getting in the way for the characters. This is the 2nd one she has mentioned Shropshire in too, So I am wondering if she has roots around here? A good read.

I am adding this book to my 'Think Pink' Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge.

This book seemed to go on forever. I enjoyed it, but the two characters who loved each other kept having obstacles, like marriages to other people in their way. This book is about three women who were roommates in boarding school whose lives bring them back together years later when they are in their early thirties. One thing that I liked about the book was the way one woman, Camilla divorced her husband when she found out he was cheating on her with her old friend. She got mad and walked out. Very little time is spent on what a creep this man was. Camilla also spent very little time being heartbroken and wanting him back. There was always a lot happening and it was very diverting being caught up in this book.

Oops, seems that I have forgotten to let you know that this book has been sound and safe with me. And I have finished the book already. I love Jill Mansells' writing, but I found this book just too long. You know it has a happy ending, but it just takes sooooo much time to get there!

I will PM Joanazinha for her address.

Edit: I am very sorry, due to many things I have not the time to go to the post office and now this book will have to wait until I have returned from my holiday. That means the end of May. I'm very sorry...

Yes! I just came home 2 hours ago from being at a congress for 8 days and this book is waiting for me! Looks very nice, as so many other books by Jill Mansell. Thanks yinny for sending it to me and tabby-cat-owner for making this a ring. Looks nice!

Journal Entry 18 by wingJoanazinhawing from Amersfoort, Utrecht Netherlands on Wednesday, July 16, 2008
I finished the book yesterday; read it in 3 to 4 sittings during my holiday. It was a fun and quick read, despite its 600 (!) pages. At the end I grew a little bit tired of all the misunderstandings and breakups, since you know that at the end all will end well for the main characters. But it took them a long time to get there...
All in all a nice read. I will PM bokwormy to see if the book is welcome in Portugal. Thanks tabby-cat-owner for including me in this ring as well!

Thank you so much Bokwormy! As you may have noticed... this sat unopened for quite a long time... I was very excited to receive it and wanted to clear some of my stack of "to read" away and delay the surprise of what could be inside! It looks like the perfect summer read. Thanks again!
