Rosie

The story of an unconventional family by one of my favorite unconventional authors.
I adore Anne Lamott, and this was very indicative of her writing style, but definitely not one of her best books. Rosie is a charismatic young girl whose mother is an alcoholic (a version of Anne herself which is apparent if you've read any of her non-fiction). The book is the story of their ups and downs, and of the struggle with alcohol. Wine and scotch are almost characters in the book.
I did enjoy it overall, but was glad it was a quick read.

I had no idea this was a "traveling" book when I asked for it from a nother reader on my free book swap site: http://www.paperbackswap.com -- where we exchange books free with other members! Anyone can sign up, its totally free (all you pay for is the media rates to mail a book to someone else so you can collect credits to get books in return!).
If you decide to check it, please out use my nickname "punkin" as a referral, I will get a free credit for a book!
The site has brought me to all kinds of other great nooks and crannies in the book world that I didn't know existed - like THIS one! I'm so glad to be here =)
