I picked this up at the used book stall at the Palm Springs Thursday night street fair. I was happy to find it because I had wanted to read the book before I saw the movie.
I really liked this book for the most part. I was shocked at what goes on in the fashion industry, which from what I've read is actually pretty accurately depicted in the book even though it seems unbelievable. It's also a shock to me that so many people devote so much time, energy and money to something so trivial as fashion. Sure it's fun to buy new clothes, but to take it to the extremes depicted in the book is just beyond anything I ever imagined.

Mailing this today to Maurean as a surprise RABCK. Enjoy!
How very kind of you, MysteryMish. This has been on my wishlist for some time, and I appriciate the opportunity to read it. Will journal again when I do.
I'm sadden to say, I didn't really enjoy this book very much. In fact, it took me several tries to get through it, and my only real motivation to finish it was I'm using it as part of a "books-to-movies" challenge that I'm participating in.
I found Andy to be selfish, self-centered, and a little annoying (I mean, c'mon?! You're interning at a FASHION magazine, and you think the people there are obsessed with their weight, clothes and appearance?! Wow. How astute.)
Ah well, I *do* appriciate you sharing it with me, MysteryMish, it just wasn't my "bag" ...
(As part of the challenge I mentioned, I have rented the movie as well; we'll see if I get thru it any easier...)

Well, honestly, I didn't enjoy the movie much better - but, it seems I am in the minority here, as other seem to LUV this book! So...I'm adding it to Elizardbreath's "I miss bookcrossing" bookbox, in the hopes that someone else will enjoy it more!
Received in the box today...thank you! :)
