I love Robin Hobb, and suedo was kind enough to pass this on to me :)

From the dustjacket: 'We are here, you and I, Fitz, to change the world. Again.'
15 years have passed since the end of the Red Ship War, when the Outislander' threat to the Six Duchies was crushed. For many, the memory of dragons passing high overhead has faded, becoming the stuff of dream - or legend. But for Fitz the past cannot be so easily laid to rest. Since he helped his King, Verity, rais a Skill-dragon with which to defeat the Outislander Raiders, Fitz has wandered the Six Duchies... accompanied only by Nighteyes.
Fitz... now lives in a small cottage as far from Buckkeep as possible. His responsibilities are his chickens, his wolf, and Hap the orphan boy he has adopted.
But visitors bring upsetting news: Starling tells of how the Witted are persecuted on account of their bond with the animals; Chade begs him to return to Buckkeep to train young Prince Dutiful in the ways of the Skill.
But it is the third visitor and the news that Dutiful is missing on the eve of his marriage to an Outislander bride that prompts his rejoining the world of the Farseers and the fool's errand that could signal the end of the Farseer reign.
