The children of men
2 journalers for this copy...
This was P.D. James' attempt at writing science fiction and it is a respectable offering with a good premise but fell flat by the end. The plot centers a world where the last baby was born 25 years ago and how society could breakdown without the hope of a future. I thought James was out of her depth in this near future thriller, it was well-written but not particularly interesting. I read it about 15 years ago and it's been sitting on the shelf since then and deserves to be set free.
